Almost all ’90s kids had their favorite Power Ranger. I always wanted to be the red ranger, regardless of the fact that every other girl wanted to be either pink or yellow. Now, going into this movie I wasn’t super excited nor was I filled with intense nostalgia. As I said, I watched the show but only really if it came on before Pokemon or something. I feel like this gives me a pretty fair perspective on this movie.
I will just start off by saying that if you just want some mindless entertainment, this movie will do you just fine. While the comedy of the movie was realllly childish and not very clever, the action and relationship between the rangers really made the movie palatable. Still not great. But decent.
The acting was fine, the CGI was fine, almost everything was fine, but one big thing that made me upset was how long it took to actually see the Power Rangers MORPHED! That’s not a spoiler, but I just wanted to let ya’ll know that there are no rangers using any powers for a solid hour and a half.
There’s really not much more to say. The movie is fine. If you are a fan of the series you will be satisfied. Maybe not blown away, but satisfied.
